Mereani Bawa Voraua was still breastfeeding her one-month-old baby yesterday when her name was called at the Vodafone Arena in Suva for her to collect her trade diploma in office administration certificate.

Ms Voraua was among the 559 graduates who graduated from the Fiji National University College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, College of Business Hospitality and Tourism Studies and National Training and Productivity Centre.

The Naboutini, Saqani, Cakaudrove native gave birth to her second son last month.

Yesterday, she specifically asked the graduation coordinators to provide two chairs as she was a breastfeeding mom.

The 27-year-old shared how she had to juggle her studies and her role as a mother and wife for two years.

“I am so humbled by the opportunity given to me today (yesterday),” she said.

“I am just thankful to God.” Ms Voraua said she had to drop out of school for a year after she got married.

“I faced so many challenges, I was a full-time student and then I got married, then I had children.

“When I got married I had to take a break from school.” Ms Voraua said her husband was her pillar of strength and supported her throughout her journey.
