With the date of the 2022 Coca-Cola Games looming closer, competition sponsors Coca-Cola Europacific Partners national sales manager Lawrence Tikaram said the company was excited to be a part of the region’s biggest annual secondary schools athletics competition.

“We are absolutely humbled and grateful to all stakeholders through our Government, Ministry of Education and FSSSAA for their support to deliver a much-awaited anticipated event,” said Tikaram.

“We are truly excited and we look forward to the many moments of happiness and joy such an event brings to the whole of Fiji.”

Tikaram assures everyone that this year’s Coca-Cola Games would be a memorable one after its hiatus for two years, and especially for students who would be participating at the event for the first time.

“We are working very closely together to ensure it is a safe and exciting event for everyone and for the many students who would be attending the event for the very first time.

“It will be historical and inspirational games for everyone and being able to participate itself is already a huge victory for many who have waited so long.

“We wish the participating students the best in their final preparations.”

He urges schools, former students and family members of participants to support their athletes as they strive to perform to the best of their abilities at the three-day event from August 18-20 at the HFC Bank Stadium at Laucala Bay, Suva.

“We greatly encourage and acknowledge the greatest support shown by our principals, teachers, coaches and students for their part in making preparations towards the 2022 Coca-Cola Games a great success.

“This include the various old scholars’ associations in supporting their schools.

“It is a great feeling to see and witness how this event propels everyone to a greater cause through their community support.

“It will be two years since our last event and many athletes are poised to provide their best and for many it would be their last so it would be a very special moment in time indeed.

“We encourage supporters to come out and support all schools and to be part of a great celebration of our students’ athleticism, character and unity in sports.

“The Coca-Cola Games is renowned for especially the great friendly rivalry that takes the performance of our athletes to a most inspiring memorable level of great competition.”
